The Village-of-Castleton is a purple heart community, new signs have been installed at the village limits. “The Purple Heart medal is presented to service members who have been wounded or killed as a result of enemy action while serving in the U.S. military. Peter Andrews Castleton Memorial VFW Post 7337 active members Edward Carney and Jerry Robinson are recipients of the Purple Heart.” – Castletonian, Spring 2020.
